  • Assassin's Creed Revelations: a Fitting Finale | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

Assassin's Creed Revelations: a Fitting Finale Analysis Share 17 Apr 2025 Written By: Edited By: Hayden Bird Colum Blackett Back To Database When Assassin’s Creed Revelations released worldwide back in 2011, it made an impact on the series as a great conclusion to the “Ezio Trilogy”, which is a collection of three games released in a row featuring the fan-favorite protagonist, Ezio Auditore, who had his entire story told throughout three mainline entry games. Gamers follow Ezio from birth, literally, until his older age. His story began in 2009’s Assassin's Creed II and continued with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood in 2010 and ended his journey with Revelations , which was then concluded in the short animation titled Assassin's Creed: Embers. While Assassin’s Creed Revelations is by no means perfect, it was a very satisfying end to such a renowned trilogy, and wrapped up Ezio Auditore’s story nicely and did his character justice with such a strong finale. Revelations tried to be different than its predecessors by adding in unique gameplay elements, such as a new tower defence feature minigame, the addition of crafted bombs to take on or lure enemies, and even an upgrade to the famous hidden blade, a weapon that defines an Assassin, which was called the “hook blade” that offered gamers a faster way to scale buildings or take down enemies with style. While some of these additions were welcomed by fans, others were not, specifically the tower defence minigame, but the game’s brilliant story and narrative direction made up for that, and then some. Revelations had a unique storyline where it not only continued and told the story of Ezio, but also told the story of the franchise’s first protagonist, Altair Ibn La’Ahad, and the direction his life took him after the events of the very first game until his old age. The combination of two fan-favorite protagonists was a beloved feature that fans easily appreciated. It was a unique and creative narrative element that really turned the game into the great memory it is today. Having two characters and their story coincide really impacted the story and the emotional turns it took. This new feature worked out perfectly and as it told two separate stories, they were both connected narratively. That was seriously impressive from a creative standpoint, as the ability to mix two storylines at once but have them both connected really made fans love Revelations , despite whatever flaws it may have had. Revelations also took us on an adventure to Constantinople for the first time, which brought with it connections to the famed Ottoman Empire. This was a welcome time period that fans enjoyed. It was also creatively genius to explore a location outside of Italy, as that is where the past two games took place. It worked out perfectly to explore a different part of the world while not jeopardizing the story and the journey Ezio took. It likely was a narrative gamble that Ubisoft took, as they had to make the location work even if the previous two games relied heavily on Italian culture and lifestyle. To branch out of this familiar setting and completely nail it was great work from Ubisoft, and showed that they were willing to take a gamble to please gamers around the globe. Revelations also focused on the Assassin recruitment ability, where you could use and train your own personal apprentices to help in combat or quietly take down nearby enemies to help you sneak around and complete the mission. This was a very unique and tactical option that expanded on the previous game’s similar feature, but made it better in every aspect. Sometimes it is useful having extra help against a large number of enemies and apprentices that could develop and achieve higher ranks in the brotherhood to make your apprentices more powerful and more durable against tougher enemies. This feature was certainly a welcome addition to the already great Revelations . Assassin’s Creed Revelations also added a fun multiplayer game mode option. It was an improvement on the previous game and was a complete upgrade in every aspect. The online feature was not used by everyone, but it offered variety for fans who loved and finished the main story and had something extra to do, or gamers in general who prefer online games and had the ability to experience online features in the unique format that the Assassin’s Creed games offered. It was a fun feature to the game that remained available even several years after the game’s lunch until it somewhat recently shut down for good. Some fans do not remember that Assassin’s Creed Revelations was originally planned to be created as a Nintendo 3DS game until Ubisoft realized the potential their idea had as a mainline game and the formerly planned 3DS game was quietly cancelled in favor of the game we know and love today. Ubisoft made a smart choice scrapping the original 3DS plans to focus on a mainline game as the story they had in mind was far too good to be limited to a handheld device, and instead fit perfectly in the mainline story of all the games in the series. While Revelations certainly has its flaws, its plot and perfect ending to Ezio’s story made it a beloved adventure that fans still enjoy to this day, and its legacy will undoubtedly live on. There were a lot of factors that went into the creation of this game, and smart choices that the developers made in order to let Revelations reach its full potential. As imperfect as it may be considered, there is no doubt it became an emotional and fitting end to such a great story from such a beloved character in Ezio Auditore. It truly became a fitting finale. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment. The actor Paul Amos known as the voice of Jacob Frye from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (also Lost Girl and The Murdoch Mysteries ) teamed up with his friend Rachel Skarsten (Lost Girl, Reign, Batwoman) to create their very own and unique, stay at home Comic-con, the aptly named HomeCon which debuted on April 10th-11th 2020. Back to Database From the moment Paul Amos went live on Instagram on the 30th March and declared a new project he’d created alongside Rachel Skarsten, we knew he had something big up his sleeve and it would be a game changer. A few days later via Instagram Live HomeCon was announced and a comic con like no other had been born. With the world on lockdown and comic cons being postponed or cancelled left right and centre, Paul and Rachel had the genius idea to create HomeCon, as the name suggests a comic con at home. But how would it work? What would it entail? And who would be there? With everyone at home, HomeCon literally had a captive audience and with many of the voice actors in the same boat as the fans, they were available to participate. Like with any Comic-Con, there would be panels, Q&A’s and the chance to have 1to1’s with your favourite actor. So with less than two weeks Paul, Rachel and many other incredible people behind the scenes pulled an incredible feat and HomeCon was ready to go live. HomeCon would take part on April 10th and 11th. All panels would be live via Twitch and with a subscription of $4.99 (or free of you had an Amazon Prime account) you could view it all. HomeCon’s Social Media platforms ( Twitter , Facebook & Instagram ) informed us frequently with panel information and guests. As the HomeCon website went live, it provided fans with schedule’s and allowed them to book their 1to1 sessions. Of course, there were a few teething problems, as there always is with technology and the rapid interest in HomeCon meant that the website traffic sent it into a mini meltdown. With all new ventures, there were a few teething problems, but personally speaking I felt that the HomeCon support teams did a phenomenal job in handling issues prior and during the event. 12/4/20 By Lisa Zaman Edited by Ashlea Buckley References Assassin’s Creed Panel (Twitch) Voice Acting in Video Games Panel (Twitch) HomeCon website Paul Amos Twitter Support TOWCB By using our Amazon Links The Assassin's Creed Community are raising money for the Italian Red Cross! Donate here Save 10% on officially licensed Assassin's Creed Origins merchandise with the code "TOWCB" A few questioned the cost ($53 for 5 mins) for the 1to1, some feeling that they couldn’t justify the spend during these uncertain times, but as Paul explained very diplomatically that many actors had dedicated their time free of charge to be available and that 10% of proceeds were going to the charity First Responders First . What I felt was impressive it that they devised an almost perfect timetable, the different time zones taken into account, allowing those around the world to tune in. Day 1 started strong, with a live introduction and welcome by Rachel and Paul. Assassin’s Creed fans eagerly awaited the AC panel at 6pm BST. I noted as I tuned in to watch that over 26,000 people were watching. Suddenly all the familiar faces (or should that be voices) appeared on screen and the discussions began. I felt the moderator Ming Chen did a great job in keeping the pace and allowing each person to talk. However, as is the way with this incredible bunch of people, the conversation steered off course in the best possible way, usually led by Paul himself. It was great to see the interaction between them all, each one giving a little insight into their character and sharing anecdotes. As the hour long panel continued it was a joy to see fans sending questions and even communicating with one another as the message board scrolled furiously. Image source: Cas Anvar Before Day 1 came to an end, Paul popped back on to Instagram to send love and thanks to all involved and teased us with the hint that there could be a HomeCon 2.0. Victoria Atkin (Evie Frye) also hosted a quick Instagram live with Melissanthi Mahut (Kassandra), and then siblings Alexios and Kassandra did the same over on Michael Antonakos’s Instagram. It was evident at this point that everyone was having the best time and that HomeCon really was bringing everyone together. Day 2 and Assassin’s Creed was represented in the Motion Capture Panel which featured Elias Toufexis (Federico Auditore da Firenze - AC 2), Melissanthi Mahut (Kassandra - AC Odyssey) and Kris Holden-Ried (Crawford Starrick - AC Syndicate), alongside Greg Bryk (Joseph Seed - Far Cry 5) and Adam Croasdell (Ignis Scientia - Final Fantasy XV) The panel was insightful and again thoroughly amusing. Meanwhile remaining AC actors were busy meeting and greeting fans via the 1to1’s. I myself had the pleasure of talking with Victoria Atkin all whilst being photobombed constantly by my excited son! Image Source: Lisa Zaman As Day 2 drew to an end for the Assassins Creed fans, Michael Antonakos went live on Instagram with HomeCon’s co creator Paul, who we discovered, was sat in his shower with a beer and a box of kitty litter. Would we have expected anything less from the Welshman? As the conversation passed between the two it was obvious that there had been another lightbulb moment for Paul and that perhaps another HomeCon would focus solely on Assassin’s Creed. As HomeCon came to an end it became clear that it had been a great success. Not only in bringing excitement and entertainment to the fans at such a tumultuous time, but it allowed those who have been unable to participate in Comic cons previously (be it mentally, physically or simply geographically) to enjoy and embrace the atmosphere that so many of us cherish. Yes, it was a fabulously entertaining 2 days, but what I took away from this experience is, as Paul highlighted, it allowed us as humans, to connect with others, something that is so important in these current times. • What Netflix can learn from Fallout's Success for Upcoming Assassin's Creed Projects | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

What Netflix can learn from Fallout's Success for Upcoming Assassin's Creed Projects Analysis Share 25 Apr 2024 Written By: Edited By: Finn Fletcher Colum Blackett Back To Database Amazon Prime’s new Fallout show is excellent, and like many people I got a bit addicted and binged the whole thing over the weekend. It's an intriguing, dramatic, action-packed narrative with some really compelling characters and performances. As a fan of the franchise, I felt it perfectly captured the tone that made me love the games, but importantly it was still welcoming to newcomers. This is likely why it's had such critical success, and why all of the games are seeing a massive rise in active players. It's an almost perfect live action video game adaptation, and as we wait for Netflix’s new Assassin’s Creed show, I think there are plenty of lessons that the Netflix production team could take from this success; a few of which I actually think we already got in the Assassin's Creed Movie (2016). While it has its fans, I think the film overall was a failure. It didn't resonate with audiences, and the narrative felt jumbled. But, choosing to create an original story within the world of Assassin's Creed that actively affected canon was the right move. I care about the stories of these games, and while it would be great to see characters show up (you could pull off a pretty cool Kassandra appearance with Melissanthi Mahut), I have no interest in seeing their stories again in live action. If you want to get people interested, show them something new and add to the games. An original story would be a great opportunity to introduce new people to the franchise, while giving hardcore fans something to chew on. With that, I also think that you need to ruffle a few feathers. Some Fallout fans have taken issue with the show’s additions to canon. There's nothing that breaks what came before, but theories and questions were put to bed, while the fate of a major city was decided. It's brave and shows a creative team who weren't willing to do a simple paint by numbers story. There are much easier, less controversial plots that could have been written, but by being bold the show stands out and doesn't feel like a watered down add-on. Even though some fans are annoyed, the decisions were handled well to fit within the narrative of the show (rather than be purely for shock value), by a team of creatives who are clearly fans of the games themselves. If Netflix wants the Assassin's Creed show to work, they need to make some bold decisions. The show could be a perfect opportunity to finally conclude some of the dangling threads left by previous games that Ubisoft no longer cares about answering. We could find out what happened to someone like Bishop and Erudito, get details on the Roman Hidden Ones who Aya led, or even expand on the Juno and Phoenix Project sub-plot which, as far as I know, was quickly resolved in a comic. These are just suggestions, but if you get in a talented team who are also fans, you could pull off something really exciting here. That, I think, was the core problem with the film. The filmmakers were incredibly talented, Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and director Justin Kurzel had just come off making Macbeth (2015), a genuinely brilliant film. There's talent there, but for whatever reason it didn't manifest into a good adaptation of Assassin's Creed. There could be plenty of reasons for that, Kurzel himself admits the film was a mess and struggled with his first jump into Hollywood Cinema, but I would say that a big challenge may have come from his unfamiliarity with the source material. Recounting his involvement in the film, Kurzel explains that it was Fassbender who first informed and drew him into the project He was introduced to the idea as a director, not a fan. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but if Netflix wants to course correct now I think getting an actual fan who's played the games to show run would be an important first step. Jonathan Nolan, Fallout showrunner and brother of Oscar-winning Christopher Nolan, isn't just a talented individual (with work on Westworld, Person of Interest and many of his brother’s films), he's also a huge Fallout fan. He describes Fallout 3 as ‘consuming a year of his life’. He cared for the source material and made a show he would want to watch. That's the kind of person we need helming Assassin's Creed, someone who can't only prove their talent, but bring in the tiny details that made us all fall in love with the games to begin with. Fallout has given me hope, and I think if done right Assassin's Creed could end up as an amazing show. • Assassin’s Creed Virtual Photography: 5th to 15th February 2024 | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

Assassin’s Creed Virtual Photography: 5th to 15th February 2024 Community Share 21 Feb 2024 Written By: Edited By: Aaron Young Colum Blackett Back To Database Welcome to the biweekly virtual photography roundup hosted by Aaron Young from the AC Partnership Program. Every two weeks we will be picking our top 5 favourite Assassin’s Creed shots and showcasing them on The Ones Who Came Before website, in order to promote virtual photography and talented content creators within the community. This theme is all about celebrating our 100th article. It has been an absolute honour to feature all your shots over the last 2 years. The collection below is a small selection of our favourites from the last few weeks, with write ups from the artists. We look forward to many more articles in the future. Keep an eye on the site as more shots are added, we are looking for captures across all Assassin’s Creed games. Tag your photos to #ACFirstCivVP for a chance to be featured. This week’s theme: Assassin’s Creed 100th Article All Father Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ Cll3ar The Ones Who Came Before Photo of the Theme ''When it comes to virtual photography, I aim to bring creativity and artistry to every shot. I enjoy capturing everything from dark, moody scenes to vibrant magical moments. Take for example this shot of Eivor (Havi) emerging from the red leaves left behind by a fallen enemy. I’ve been a fan of Assassin’s Creed for ages, and the photo mode features in the latest games have been a real game-changer for me. Allowing me to freeze moments and tell stories through my lens. The Assassin’s Creed community has been awesome, giving me the opportunity to showcase my work in articles and virtual photography magazines early on. This support has meant the world to me. Big thanks to everyone for letting me share my world with you.'' Judge: Admin Team Aaron ( FalconSwift87 ) “The realm is changed. But this is not Surtr’s doing. It is something more.” Assassin’s Creed Valhalla boasts a considerable section dedicated to Havi. When entering these mythical worlds, photography options become a lot more varied. On reflection I cannot wait to revisit them soon. This stunning landscape shot of Havi gives me real box art vibes, in fact it isn’t too dissimilar to what Ubisoft produced. I adore Havi stance as it shows him in pain, something he must endure a lot of during the Ragnarok DLC. The cold tones in the background fit beautifully with the Norse theme, reminding me of the Norway arc. I love the red leaves; they look so graceful fluttering up behind him. The remains of an enemy put to the sword by the High One. Turið Torkilsdóttir Raven has a distinctive way of utilizing the environment of a game. She combines pleasant colours and interesting scenery to create something unique every time. This photo is the best proof of it and well deserved first place. Kai ( KaiVirtualPhoto ) I’m a fan of Raven and her work with colours, and this shot makes no exception. I love the contrast between the red leaves in the foreground and the white/blue tones in the background. Eivor passing by with his eyes covered by shadows, as well as the cinematic aspect ratio, make for a magnificent picture and composition. Congratulations Raven. Jack ( _Virtualtourism ) Raven’s distinct style and perspective consistently yields stunning virtual photography across various games. In this image her talent shines through in her ability to convey motion within the image. The sense of Eivor traversing the scene is heightened not only by a great composition but also the vibrant red leaves, which are drifting through the scene, and helped by being excellently contrasted against the cold blue backdrop. Truly a breath-taking capture. Church Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ PodToGo ''Hi, I’m Payableondeath from Germany and I’ve been doing VP since 2015. I started just taking screenshots for me and my friends, but from 2017 with Horizon Zero Dawn, I discovered photo mode. I was impressed by everything I could do that couldn’t be done in real life photography, such as pausing the action and moving the camera or changing the time of day. I’ve loved challenging my creativity again and again. I got to know Assassin’s Creed back then with AC2. It picked me up during a difficult time and that’s not the only reason why it has a place in my heart. Assassin’s Creed also showed me to be open to foreign cultures and people. It is great to share my passion for both, with this wonderful community.'' Viewpoint Game: Assassin’s Creed Syndicate VP Artist: @ juanmawl ''I remember the exact moment I took this shot (along with others in that location). I was particularly fond of the WW1 sequence in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. I was experimenting with a free roam injector for the PC version of the game. I loved the colours on the horizon, and I decided to place Lydia at the top of London Bridge. I tried some unusual angles, but I think the shot turned out beautifully overall. I love virtual photography in general and Assassin’s Creed in particular because it allows me to capture the details beneath the visuals, such as short angle shots, expressions, or the tranquillity of a landscape. There is so much difference between the gameplay shot and the final outcome. That is one of the things I love the most, comparing the two. I’ve been honing my photography skills since AC3, and shots like this one make me fee proud.'' Restricted Game: Assassin’s Creed Mirage VP Artist: Siobhan from AC UK (@ mysticheero ) ''I’m a big Assassin’s Creed fan. I am part of the Assassin’s Creed United Kingdom group and former Mentor and Star Player for Ubisoft. I enjoy virtual photography and exploring the world of gaming through it, capturing scenes I find amazing and inspiring. I love discovering how changing colours, focal points and angles alters our perception of an image. Strong colours stand out and impact the emotion of a scene but, equally the lack of colour can have just as powerful effect. Assassin’s Creed has something for everyone, across all its transmedia sources. The community is a great place to express our love from different viewpoints. It’s always great seeing the community come together to share their passions, supporting and inspiring each other to be part of such an inclusive community.'' Under the Sea Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ RaffGN7 ''This shot was a little difficult to take. I had to centre Eivor with the ship, and Eivor needed to be closer to the camera because of the photo mode restrictions. I took some shots, and this was the one that turned out best. Obviously, it’s a little retouched in photoshop, so you can use it as a wallpaper or poster. My passion for this saga inspired me to take this shot. I call it Between two Worlds.'' Dracarys Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ Amaya_Nocturna ''This is truly an honour. This particular shot was all experimental. It was during my first time playing the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. I was using Sýnin (with the dragon skin) to look for something, until I noticed the smoke from the chimneys. A lightbulb essentially went off in my head. It took a few tries to time it just right, but the result is something I am so extremely proud of. I would like to say that my virtual photography is still very much a work in progress. I am trying new things as often as possible, and I am trying to grow with it. Its like a traditional artist trying to have diverse styles. However, portraits like this are my forte. Virtual photography is fun and is another digital art form that we can explore. When it comes to Assassin’s Creed, I have to say that it is a great series. Personally, it has taught me that history is far more interesting than school makes it out to be. It taught me and continues to teach me history in a fun and engaging way. As far as the community is concerned, it is a place where I have met some amazing people and have formed lots of friendships. I continue to meet new people because of this fantastic series. I even met classmates who are also fans of Assassin’s Creed. I know the community isn’t always perfect, but I think we all need to remember that we are here for a mutual love of this game series. It’s a great community and we need to stick together.'' Tactician Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ 9b75 The good thing about Assassin’s Creed is that as an Assassin we can set the world straight. At the same time, we can get in touch with nature and the lives of the people who lived in that time-period. I don’t know of any other game where we can climb Big Ben, run freely around the Palace of Versailles, or stand at the top of the pyramids. It’s the best. I will continue to take photos of these great moments. I want to thank the community for featuring our work in this way. It is nothing short of a source of energy for us. Thank you so much. Surveying the Land Game: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey VP Artist: @ cop_filip ''Assassin’s Creed is the first gaming franchise I ever got into back with Assassin's Creed 2 and it's also where my virtual photography journey started all the way back in 2017. These are the games I've captured and posted most, and even after all this time and all the different games I've captured over the years I still love coming back to them and capturing their beautiful worlds. I really love this series and I'm happy I can be a part of and contribute to the community. '' Anubis Game: Assassin’s Creed Origins VP Artist: @ zurullotarra ''I love doing virtual photography because I can explore my favourite games looking for beautiful places to capture. That way I can get lost in their fantasy worlds and forget about real life.'' And that sums it up for this Assassin’s Creed virtual photography recap list! Thank you for checking out the photo collection. This would not be possible without the virtual photographers out there so a huge thanks to them. Until next time keep those shots coming in! comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Deine Meinung teilen Jetzt den ersten Kommentar verfassen. • Quick-Fire Community Questions - Round 6: Daniel Nagy (AC Hungaria Admin) | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

Quick-Fire Community Questions - Round 6: Daniel Nagy (AC Hungaria Admin) Community Interview Share 30 Apr 2019 Written By: Edited By: Ashlea Blackett Colum Blackett Back To Database Ashlea: Please tell us a little bit about yourself? Daniel: Thanks for having me. My name’s Daniel Nagy, but in the virtual world a lot of people know me as AidanLynge. I’m one of the admin of the Assassin’s Creed Hungária community, which is a hungarian group with a lot of good people. I’m 25 years old. I’m still a student but still learning programming for my future job. Ashlea: When did you become a fan of Assassin's Creed? Daniel: A day after my elementary school we went to my friend’s house and decided to play something cool. We first played Need for Speed, but that doesn’t help us to relax, after that he showed a DVD box, the name’s Assassin’s Creed. I think we played it on XP, so it was really cool and enjoyable. That’s the time I still playing this awesome franchise. Ashlea: Which was the first game you played? Daniel: Just as I mentioned before, Assassin’s Creed was the first one I played, I really enjoyed, at first I didn’t care about the lore or the main characters, but then it really got me. Ashlea: How did the Assassin's Creed Hungary Fan Community arrise? How big is the community? Daniel: This is a hard job to keep the balance in the community. To be honest, I was once another "group" or "community” admin, but that was not working properly. After that I met this one, which is very attractive and developing, and the perfect place for me. The community is very big, if I count the facebook page and group, I can say we are definitely growing and we want to keep that going. We have great admins, who are the biggest fans in the community, and that’s why they’re the best, but the community as well. Ashlea: What projects have Assassin's Creed Hungary worked on? Daniel: My personal project is kinda like a lore base series which will be the Assassin’s Creed Hungary Lore in our mother language, so it takes a lot of time to work on this project. With the other admins we have a plan to participate in an IT event to represent us. Also we’re planning to go one of the AC Symphony concert in the future from Milano. Ashlea: What are the challenges you have found in managing a community? Daniel: Stay active! That’s our motto, but this is the truth. Beside of the work in AC Hungária, we’re managing this community as a hobby as well. We’re really like to work as main job in this community and everyday give content to our loyal members. Ashlea: Have you attended any Assassin's Creed events? Daniel: We had little events when Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Black Flag came out. The company who worked in as a publisher in our country organised these events. We could try the new games before the day it should be released and there were a lot of competition where you could win a lot of AC related gifts. Ashlea: Have you ever attended any events in cosplay? Daniel: Actually not, I didn’t do any cosplay at all, but it’s good to see that our community are trying to make awesome outfits and collectibles on their own creativity. Ashlea: What are the future plans of your community? Where do you See yourselves in one year? Daniel: We have high hope to work with Ubisoft on our common project as well. Ashlea: What are your prediction for Assassin's Creed in 2020? Daniel: I really want to go back to Rome, which was a rumour, that we could able to go back to the ancient Rome, but honestly, I really love playing in different eras, but I could see an AC, which could be play in Hungary. I don’t say that’s impossible, but our history is not so popular abroad. My fellow admins say they could really imagine a Far East or a Viking story as well…which could be possible because of the new rumours. I could really enjoy that as well. Ashlea: What is your favourite part of being a community member? Daniel: To belong somewhere. I’m not a popular guy, who really enjoys the late night’s or drinking parties. I really like helping people to understand this amazing world of Assassin’s Creed. This is my relief, this is my "job”, but also a hobby as well and I could see myself as a director of our community later. Ashlea: What are your highlights from being a part of the Assassin's Creed community? Daniel: I joined this community about half a year ago and we’re planning to celebrate the 2nd anniversary. This is a really big step for me as well, because we can meet each other, not just sitting behind our desk and chat with each other. We’re really proud of the community. They’re the best for us and we love this feeling. Ashlea: Which is your favourite Assassin's Creed game? Daniel: Hard to decide on that, because i really loved every part of it, but if I have to decide, then I should say Rogue. Strange, but it was a really big turn on the franchise where we were Assassins once, but then joined the Templars. I also love Revelations, it was an emotionally rich game of the franchise where we finished the Ezio’s line, I really like that as well. But in the new direction of the game, I really love Odyssey as well. I’ve never played an RPG before Origins, so it was a really good way to know this RPG world, also loves Greek history as well. Which game made you fall in love with the franchise? The first one. If I don’t know that I could barely imagine myself in here as well. It started me thinking that could be an awesome franchise and here we are after so many games of it, and still loving it. Ashlea: What is your favourite item in your assassin's creed collection? Daniel: I wish I could collect more of these thing, because I only buy the books/comics and the games, but I have the Freedom Cry edition of AC3 and Buccaneer Edition of Black Flag. When I set my own apartment, I’m going to start collecting every collectible I could have. We would like to thank Daniel for joining us for this round of Quick-Fire Community Questions. This Week in Assassin’s Creed Virtual Photography: 20th to 26th February Community Share 28 Feb 2023 Written By: Edited By: Aaron Young Ashlea Blackett Back To Database Welcome to the weekly virtual photography roundup hosted by Aaron Young from The AC Partnership Program. Every week I will be picking our top 5 favourite Assassin’s Creed shots and showcasing them on The Ones Who Came Before website, in order to promote virtual photography and talented content creators within the community. Aaron is a keen virtual photographer and loves to post his journeys through Assassin’s Creed on Twitter. Keep an eye on the site as more weekly shots are added, we are looking for captures across all Assassin’s Creed games. Tag your photos to the #TOWCBWeeklyCapture for a chance to be featured. This week’s theme: Assassin’s Creed In Plain Sight Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ Jakeste66386991 We start this week's showcase with an absolute cracker from Jakester. This shot is all about depth of field and how it highlights the Ezio outfit perfectly. I am definitely getting Brotherhood vibes from this photo. I am always impressed when people can capture the spirit of the old games within the newer ones. Thank you Ubisoft for adding the legacy outfits. The Ones Who Came Before Photo of the Week: Judge - Michael Doyle This capture has immortalised what it means to be an assassin, hidden in plain sight, yet with an elegance that stands out beyond the crowd around them. I also get a great sense of nostagla towards the original AC in this shot. Bayek appears ancient and wise, which is unique as this was taken early in Bayek’s life before the brotherhood truly began. The Master Game: Assassin’s Creed Origins VP Artist: @ reephto This shot was titled "The Master'' and I can't argue with that, In fact, I would say this capture is masterful in itself. For me this photo epitomises the Assassin's and what they stand for. I love that Bayek is in the Hidden Ones outfit, and that stunning shadow across his face/hood symbolises the Creed impeccably. Bayek's beard looks so detailed too, is this really a 2017 game? Ready for Battle Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ Nxthxn_Turner18 Next up we have Varin's axe in full view. This axe should be more famous than in is, the details are so impressive. The positioning of this shot is what drew me to it. I like how the depth of field highlights the axe and the hidden blade. You can see Eivor is ready for a fight, and that light forking down in front of her is really something. Saxon Slayer Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ PodToGo I may have some bias to this shot. When you like the hairstyle, armour, and the portrait style, all you can do is feature it. I am in awe of how good this capture looks; I feel like the metal on the outfit just glints in this style. I am definitely going to try this myself now, especially as the Huldufolk set is my favourite. A perfect photo for a Thorsday entry. Fallen Hero Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Platform: PS4 VP Artist: @ _TFoU_ The final shot of the week blends Viking and Isu to give off a real science fiction vibe. I don't usually use these outfits and weapons, but I have to admit it does look cool. The film grain style adds a real sense of grandeur. I love the combo of Fallen Hero, Excalibur, and the band around the eyes. Checkout the link for an awesome close up of Eivor. Link: https://twitter.com/_tfou_/status/1629937557076316160?s=46&t=ouVXsSaqJFul6_HVXb9RLg And that sums it up for this week’s Assassin’s Creed virtual photography recap list! This sketch of Hytham from Assassin's Creed Valhalla was done on toned paper in class, and brings the character to life! One particular feature that stands out for me is the hair, with each individual strand making an impact. You'll soon be able to find more of Sophia's projects in the Community HUB.
